BASIC FUNCTION:
- Perform all activities accurately and safely in accordance with company standards. GoalZero (HSES&Q) being paramount and adhered to at all times.
- Responsible for assessing products and in making modifications to the formulation where appropriate such that the product specifications are met for both colour and mechanical properties.
- Responsible for checking that products meet national and international quality standards with the authority to stop production where non conformity arises.
- Routine sample & specimen preparation, testing, inspection and release of raw materials and finished products accordance with the inspection plan and all associated administration and documentation.
- Conducting tests and maintaining systems associated to routine calibration of test equipment.
- Ensuring Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility records for both products & incoming raw materials are maintained.
- Routine functional transactions in SAP and CIMAG systems.
- Shift work on a rota basis is required.

A Day in the Life
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensure products are inspected according to standards and to identify defective production not suitable for release in a timely fashion.
- To learn the attributes, both colour and mechanical, of raw materials and the effects these characteristics have on finished products and use these skills to make formulation adjustments to meet product specifications.
- To learn the use of injection moulding machines and apply this knowledge to prepare test specimens according to internal and international standards.
- Operational knowledge of test equipment and to understand their international standards in order to perform and report accurate tests on materials and finished products. Maintaining Gage R&R standards accordingly.
- Ensure non-conforming production is suitably identified, recorded & controlled to prevent unplanned release. Support production with investigation, root cause analysis, corrective & preventative measures.
- Support operations ensure products are planned, manufactured, inspected, released & shipped accordingly.
- Maintain systems to ensure equipment is tested & calibrated according to schedule. Conduct routine internal calibrations where applicable.
- To assist Quality manager/ Laboratory manager in other activities not limited to the above.
You Bring This Value
Education:
- Minimum GCSE’s in Mathematics, English and Science subjects but ideally educated to a higher level preferably a degree in a science discipline.
Work Experience:
- 1-2 years’ experience in quality control or laboratory environment.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in quality inspection role or R&D role, preferably within polymer manufacturing industry.
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a colour evaluation role with responsibilities adjusting formulations to achieve product specifications.

Skills:
- Good degree of computer literacy and ability to use internal business software and systems.
- Good analytical skills with a good understanding of test equipment and methods for the polymer industry.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Good skills in communicating internally within quality team and across operational departments.
- Must be highly motivated with clear focus on achieving targets and goals.
- Perfect colour vision.
Languages:
- Must be fluent in written and verbal English.
What We Offer:
- Participation in the Company’s discretionary short-term incentive (bonus) programme. Currently, the full-year target bonus for this position is 6% of base salary
- Salary Sacrifice Pension scheme with employer contributions matching double employee contributions to maximum of 10% employer contributions.
- 17 days' holiday (plus bank holidays if applicable) increasing to 21 with service
