Site QC Manager - Pharma

Skipton, North Yorkshire (on site)

The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Site QC Manager to lead our QC function at our Skipton manufacturing site.

Reporting to the Head of Quality, you'll lead a team of approximately 40 colleagues, ensuring Quality Control activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in full compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements. You'll play a key role in driving performance, developing people, supporting inspections and audits, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading and developing a high-performing Quality Control team
  • Managing QC operations, resources and departmental budgets
  • Ensuring timely delivery of release testing, stability studies and validation activities
  • Driving quality, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitoring and reporting KPIs and laboratory performance metrics
  • Supporting investigations, deviations, OOS and OOE activities
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support site objectives
  • Leading audit and inspection readiness across the QC function
  • Coaching and developing future QC leaders
  • Continuous Improvement within the QC function

What We're Looking For

  • Significant leadership experience within a GMP pharmaceutical QC laboratory
  • Strong knowledge of analytical testing techniques, including chromatography and wet chemistry
  • Experience managing large teams and laboratory performance
  • Strong understanding of GMP, GLP and Health & Safety requirements
  • Excellent communication, influencing and problem-solving skills
  • HNC/HND, BSc or equivalent qualification in a scientific discipline
