QCF Assessor - Externally Funded

30 Hrs (4 days/week)

Temporarily Funded until 31st March 2027

We are looking to recruit a hardworking and resilient individual to join the Vocational Qualification Assessor Team. This team is part of the Cwm Taf Social Care Workforce Development Service based at Ty Elai, Williamstown and will be responsible for co-ordinating a programme of learning and assessment for a specified group of learners to achieve recognised qualifications. This will contribute to attaining Social Care Wales registration requirements or National Training targets and to assist in ongoing personal development.

You will be responsible for managing your workload to ensure a quality and robust service to learners who are looking to complete their vocational qualifications in Health and Social Care. You will also liaise with supervisors and managers to create a triangulated approach to assessment.

You will be joining an experienced and hard working team and good communication and teamworking skills are essential to this role.

Duties will include:

  • Completing lesson plans for training and teaching sessions with learners in the health and social care sector
  • Record keeping
  • Completing assessments - including observations of practice against set criteria
  • Attending regular meetings
  • Keeping your own continuous professional development up to date

This may include travelling to all areas of Cwm Taf.

To succeed in the role, you must be passionate, patient and committed to those you support, and the professional standards of the role of an assessor.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
