ROLE: QHSE Advisor
HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
LOCATION: Sellafield - Seascale
Are you an experienced QHSE professional looking for a role where you can make a real impact? Do you enjoy working closely with operational teams, supporting compliance, improving performance, and helping create safer workplaces?
Mitie is seeking an experienced QHSE Advisor to join a dynamic contract operating within a highly regulated environment. Supporting a diverse range of operational, technical and support services, this role offers the opportunity to work with a wide variety of stakeholders while helping drive excellence in quality, health, safety and environmental performance.
This position requires a practical, solutions-focused professional who can provide credible advice, recognise good practice, constructively challenge where improvements are needed, and support continual improvement across the contract.
Please Note
This is not an entry-level or trainee role. We are looking for an established QHSE professional with significant practical experience in advisory positions and a strong track record of working within complex, high-risk, safety-critical or highly regulated environments.
The Role
Reporting to the QHSE Manager, you will help maintain and improve the Integrated Management System, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, client requirements, company standards and industry best practice.
Working closely with managers, supervisors, employees, subcontractors and clients, you will:
- Provide practical and professional QHSE advice and support.
- Conduct audits, inspections and investigations.
- Support compliance with quality, health, safety and environmental standards.
- Analyse trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Promote positive behaviours and a proactive safety culture.
- Support operational teams in managing risk and implementing effective controls.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of management systems and assurance activities.
About You
Could you confidently support operational teams in a demanding environment? Have you successfully influenced positive change, challenged poor practice where necessary, and helped improve safety performance?

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
