Job Overview

Working as a key part of the QHSE Team embedding the ethos of "Live Safe" across the business, assisting in our compliance with contractual, company, legislative, and best practice requirements.

  • Supporting the mobile QHSE Adviser's while they visits sites to check and maintain QHSE standards
  • Ensuring that all accident incidents and near misses are reported, added to the database and outstanding investigators chased, lessons learnt shared
  • Work with the QHSE Year planner prompting colleagues to ensure the planner stays on track and is updates
  • Represent the team by attending meetings, forums as a representative of the QHSE team
  • Be an approachable source of advice on QHSE policy and legislative requirements to the Centre and other internal stakeholders, or know where to find the information

NB You must be eligible to obtain CTC clearance and an enhanced DBS to work alongside our Home Office client. You must hold a valid British Passport or EU passport with Share Code, have lived and worked in the UK with no extended trips, of more than 3 months overseas. Have no criminal convictions including minor drug offences, or be part of an ongoing police investigation.

Main Duties

  • Report Production: Creating accurate reports to demonstrate QHSE performance.
  • KPI/SLA Compliance: Working in accordance with QHSE Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to support the contract.
  • Investigations and Preventive Measures: Conducting investigations, recommending corrective or preventive measures, and sharing lessons learned to prevent future occurrences.
  • Communication and Documentation: Maintaining effective communication, preparing, and disseminating reports and documentation to ensure stakeholders are informed and standards are met, working within the document control process
  • Internal Audit Programme: Working with Eco online to drive continual improvement and compliance with required standards and business requirements.
  • Insurance Liaison: Liaising with the Mitie Insurance community to manage insurance activities and provide operational interpretations.
  • QHSE Management System Compliance: Promoting and ensuring compliance with the Mitie Group QHSE management system and Group umbrella certification for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • MISHE Support: Periodically reviewing information on MISHE and supporting its users.
  • Complex QHSE/ER Issues: Assisting local and regional management teams with complex QHSE/Employee Relations (ER) issues.
  • Additional Duties: Performing any other duties as requested by your line manager to support the QHSE team during daily operations and work towards strategic targets.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proficient and competent in MS Office, MS Power BI, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressure, deliver methodically and at pace, with a critical eye for detail and high standards.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Tenacious self-starter with a desire to persist and get the job done.
  • Previous investigative experience (desirable).
  • Ability to occasionally travel for development purposes.
  • Eager to develop and learn.
  • Competent in working with bespoke systems.
  • Seeking development and growth opportunities.
  • Level 2 Health and Safety Qualification and knowledge of food safety.
  • Minimum of 3 years UK work history to meet security vetting requirements.
