Role Purpose
The QHSE Compliance Manager is responsible for leading and continuously improving the organisation’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance and the systems which manage these requirements. This includes full ownership of ISO 9001 and the development of a system which is auditable to ISO 45001 and 14001, the management of all internal audits and ensuring strong performance across operational, quality and compliance functions. The QHSE Compliance Manager provides overall governance and coordination across the organisation, ensuring all teams meet required standards while fostering a culture of safety, consistency, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with HSE and company-specific regulations.
- Lead, Maintain and ensure business compliance with the Quality Management System (ISO9001)
- Development and management of a HSE system which is auditable to ISO 45001 & 14001.
- Oversee internal audit planning, execution, reporting, and corrective actions.
- Support the development of ISO Auditors within the business.
- Manage non-conformance systems and ensure effective root cause analysis and close-out.
- Oversee incident and accident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor HSE performance across the business and support improvement initiatives.
- Provide leadership and alignment for the HSE Adviser and QHSE Lead on all activities.
- Support and align with the QC Manager on compliance, standards and controls.
- Ensure consistent application of QHSE standards and processes across all sites, including supporting and mentoring site-based QHSE roles.

Business requirements
- Implement & ensure the business follows defined processes.
- Ensure that business data is gathered in accordance with documented procedures.
- Review and maintain business records to ensure they are performed correctly and on time.
- Overall responsibility for the Quality, Environmental and Safety Management System at all MFT sites.
- Document non-conformances clearly and accurately – using systems where required.
- Ensure that non-conformance is followed through to completion.
- Carry out and promote root cause analysis and assist in the implementation of controls to prevent re-occurrence.
- Support all business areas on the implementation and ongoing management of the QMS.
- Support the business to achieve Quality, Safety and Environmental objectives.
- Support the NPD in line with QHSE requirements.
- Identify knowledge gaps within QHSE and arrange appropriate training.
- Periodic departmental risk reviews and actions to address.
- Development of HSE to support and promote a safe working culture.

Leadership
- Provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership for HSE Adviser and QHSE Lead
- Present QHSE performance and risks to the Head of Operations and other leaders where applicable.
- Provide functional leadership, guidance and support to the HSE Adviser and QHSE Lead, ensuring alignment to company standards, systems and ways of working.
- Support the development, coaching and capability of site-based QHSE personnel to ensure a consistent and scalable approach across the business
Continuous Improvement
- Continually improve business processes in line with ISO9001, 45001 and 14001.
- Assist in the continuous growth of the Quality functions using the team’s knowledge and experience.
- Lead & encourage process improvement teams and ensure control through the QMS.
- Work closely with all areas of the business to implement & control change.
- Lead team meetings as required (management review, safety, problem solving, etc)
- Undertake training as deemed necessary
