We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QHSE Compliance Manager to join our team.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our company’s compliance with quality, environmental, health & safety standards, industry-specific accreditations, and regulatory requirements. This position is essential for supporting safe operations, achieving and sustaining certifications, and driving continuous improvement across our projects and sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist with the approval process for Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Manage and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) standards, including internal audits, documentation, and continual improvement activities.
  • Oversee and support accreditations and certifications including BAFE, FIRAS, BM TRADA, NICEIC, RISQS, Builders Profile, Achilles, Safe Contractor, Refcom, and CIRAS.
  • Maintain up-to-date legal registers and ensure ongoing compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Conduct and review Risk Assessments and COSHH assessments.
  • Perform regular site inspections and audits to verify adherence to safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
  • Produce and distribute internal newsletters and communications on QHSE topics, best practices, lessons learned, and updates.
  • Support the renewal, maintenance, and improvement of all company accreditations and supplier schemes.
  • Liaise with certification bodies, clients, and internal teams to resolve non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance and training to operational teams on QHSE matters.
  • Monitor legislative and industry changes and advise management accordingly.

  • Proven experience in a QHSE / Compliance role within construction, engineering, electrical, or fire safety sectors.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, SSOW, RAMS, COSHH, and risk assessment processes.
  • Familiarity with the listed schemes: BAFE, FIRAS, BM TRADA, NICEIC, RISQS, Achilles, Safe Contractor, Refcom, CIRAS, and Builders Profile.
  • Excellent organisational and documentation skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification is highly desirable.
  • Internal auditor qualification for ISO standards is an advantage.
