Group QHSE Manager
W Talent Engineering and Manufacturing are partnering with a market-leading assembly-focused manufacturing business to recruit a Group QHSE Manager.
This is a senior opportunity for an experienced QHSE professional to take ownership of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards across a multi-site manufacturing operation. The sites are based in Nottinghamshire and Wiltshire and can be based at either site. The role will play a key part in developing and embedding a proactive QHSE culture, ensuring the business continues to meet its legal, regulatory and customer requirements while driving improvements in quality, safety, environmental performance and operational excellence.
The Role
Reporting into the Group Operations Director, you will lead the development and continuous improvement of the company's QHSE management systems across two manufacturing sites. You will work closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and the Senior Leadership Team, providing both strategic direction and hands-on support to ensure QHSE remains embedded within day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the Group QHSE strategy across two manufacturing sites.
- Developing and maintaining the Quality Management System, including ISO 9001 compliance.
- Leading internal and external audits and managing corrective actions.
- Driving improvements in customer complaints, non-conformances, defects, waste and rework.
- Leading Health & Safety systems, risk assessments, investigations and behavioural safety initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Developing environmental improvement plans covering waste, recycling, energy and carbon reduction.
- Supporting ISO 14001 and wider environmental compliance.
- Establishing and monitoring QHSE KPIs and providing regular reporting to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
- Coaching and supporting managers and supervisors to take greater ownership of QHSE.
- Supporting supplier quality and development activities.
- Working collaboratively across the business to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.

About You
We are looking for an experienced QHSE or Quality Manager who has operated within a manufacturing environment and can demonstrate the credibility to work at both strategic and operational levels.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience within a Quality Management position in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- At least 5 years' experience in a QHSE, HSE or Quality management role within manufacturing.
- Strong background in Customer and Supplier Quality development activities.
- Excellent working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 and systems management.
- Experience conducting supplier and internal audits.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
- NEBOSH General Certificate is required
- Lead Auditor qualification would be preferred
- Experience using quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, CAPA and Root Cause Analysis.
- Strong systems knowledge including ERP/MRP and quality management software.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous experience within complex manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, industrial or highly regulated environments would be advantageous.
