QHSE Manager

At Mitie Care & Custody, we're committed to delivering critical public services safely, effectively and with the highest standards of care and professionalism. We're looking for an experienced QHSE Manager to support the mobilisation and ongoing delivery of the JPECCS contract across Scotland.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, you'll lead the implementation of the contract's Quality, Health, Safety, Environment and Risk strategy. You'll work closely with operational leaders, clients and stakeholders to embed a strong safety culture, drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance across all areas of service delivery.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental activities across the contract, ensuring compliance with legislative, client and company requirements.
- Manage risk assessments, incident investigations, audits and assurance activities across multiple operational locations.
- Provide expert QHSE guidance and support to senior managers and operational teams.
- Monitor performance trends, produce reports and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators and external stakeholders.
- Ensure quality and governance frameworks are embedded and consistently applied throughout the contract.
- Lead the delivery of QHSE objectives and ensure alignment with wider business and contractual priorities.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must meet the below-defined requirements for the role:
- Previous experience in a QHSE management role within custodial, regulated, secure or other high-risk operational environments.
- NEBOSH Certificate (or higher) with a strong working knowledge of UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Proven experience delivering QHSE improvement initiatives, managing audits, investigations, compliance programmes and risk management activities.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, manage teams and drive a positive safety culture.
- Strong communication, project management and organisational skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and business systems.
