W Talent are delighted to be partnering with an established packaging manufacturing business based in Hull to recruit a QHSE Manager. This is an opportunity to join an established manufacturing site, playing a key role across Quality, Health & Safety and compliance within a busy production environment.

Job Description

Reporting to the senior management team, the QHSE Manager will be responsible for maintaining quality standards, managing audit requirements and promoting a strong Health & Safety culture across the site.

You will work closely with Team Leaders and the wider manufacturing team to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained across both the factory and office environment. A key part of the role will be managing BRCGS requirements, supporting annual certification audits and responding to customer quality requirements.

This role would suit an experienced QHSE, QA, Quality or HSE professional looking for a permanent opportunity within a manufacturing environment, where strong organisation, attention to detail and practical knowledge can directly support site compliance and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Quality, Health & Safety and compliance activities across the site.
  • Maintain and continually improve the site's quality and Health & Safety systems.
  • Manage BRCGS requirements and coordinate preparation for annual certification audits.
  • Manage and respond to customer quality requirements and customer audits.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring actions are identified and completed.
  • Monitor compliance with relevant legislation, standards and customer requirements.
  • Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across the factory and office environment.
  • Ensure employees comply with Health & Safety legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with Team Leaders and operational teams to maintain quality and safety standards day to day.
  • Maintain accurate QHSE documentation, records and reporting.
  • Support investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement activity.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues across Quality and Health & Safety matters.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience within a QHSE, Quality, QA, HSE or similar role.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with BRCGS requirements and certification.
  • Experience managing or supporting annual BRCGS audits.
  • Experience dealing with customer quality audits and requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across a manufacturing site.
  • A proactive and practical approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

Advantageous Requirements

  • Previous experience within food, food packaging, healthcare packaging or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and quality management systems.
  • Relevant Health & Safety qualifications.
  • Experience managing internal and external audits.
  • Knowledge of FSC and/or PEFC certification.

  • £35,000 - £40,000 salary depending on experience.
