QHSE Engineer / Manager – Part-Time

Location: Guildford, Surrey

Salary: Up to £50,000 FTE, pro rata

Hours: 2–3 days per week | Fully flexible working days and hours and open to discussion

Employment type: Part-Time, Permanent

Hawk3 Talent Solutions, acting as an employment business, are recruiting on behalf of an established engineering and manufacturing business for an experienced QHSE Engineer / Manager to join their team on a part-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality or QHSE professional who is looking to reduce their working hours while retaining a varied and influential role within a successful, family-owned engineering business.

The company has a long-standing, loyal workforce and operates a friendly, relaxed and collaborative working environment. The role offers considerable flexibility, with the business open to 2 or 3 days per week and flexible working arrangements for the right person.

The Role

Reporting into the senior management team, you will take ownership of the company's established QHSE Integrated Business Management System and ensure continued compliance, development and improvement across the business.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating autonomously, bringing a proactive and practical approach to QHSE. You will work closely with colleagues, customers and suppliers, providing guidance on compliance, quality and regulatory requirements.

There will also be an element of hands-on involvement within the engineering and manufacturing environment, so an engineering background or strong understanding of manufacturing processes would be highly advantageous.

Key Duties

  • Manage and maintain the company's integrated QHSE Business Management System to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits and support external accreditation audits.
  • Develop, maintain and improve processes, procedures and work instructions.
  • Monitor and report on monthly QHSE KPIs.
  • Schedule and support Management Review Meetings.
  • Manage internal and supplier non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction, feedback and complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and standards.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding QHSE requirements.
  • Support supplier audits and undertake occasional supplier visits.
  • Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes and documentation.
  • Support facilities and maintenance compliance activities.
  • Provide practical QHSE advice across the business.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential:

  • A strong background in Quality/QHSE leadership.
  • Strong experience managing and maintaining a QMS, BMS or Integrated Management System.
  • Good knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Proven internal auditing experience.
  • Experience managing compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
  • Good understanding of quality and continuous improvement principles.
