Location: Slough, Berkshire

Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 depending on experience

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Travel: UK travel required, with occasional overnight stays

We are currently recruiting for an experienced QHSE Manager to join a well-established engineering and maintenance business.

This is a key management role responsible for maintaining high standards across Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE), ensuring regulatory compliance and promoting a strong safety culture across the organisation.

You will work closely with management, engineers, supervisors, clients and contractors across maintenance contracts, mobilisations, bids and small works projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve QHSE policies, procedures and management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with UK legislation, regulations and customer requirements.
  • Maintain systems aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Conduct audits, site inspections, risk assessments and compliance reviews.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor QHSE performance, KPIs and management reporting.
  • Provide QHSE guidance, coaching and training to operational teams.
  • Support bids, mobilisations and improvement programmes.
  • Manage contractor and supplier QHSE compliance.
  • Manage QHSE documentation, records and company accreditations.
  • Build relationships with clients, auditors and certification bodies.
  • Promote a positive and proactive QHSE culture.

About You

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a QHSE/HSE management role.
  • NEBOSH qualification with IOSH membership or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Experience within engineering, M&E, FM or building services.
  • Experience across maintenance, small works or project environments.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety and environmental legislation.
  • Experience with audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills.
  • Strong organisational and analytical abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK.
  • ISO Internal Auditor training would be advantageous.
  • NEBOSH Diploma, engineering/FM qualifications or Chartered IOSH progression would be desirable.
