Jenson Fisher is delighted to be working in partnership with a well-positioned firm of Chartered Accountants in Fife, to recruit an experienced Qualified Accountant to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong practice experience who is looking for a varied, hands-on role within a progressive and close-knit accountancy firm.
The position will suit someone who enjoys working directly with clients, taking ownership of their workload and operating within a flat and collaborative structure. In addition to managing your own portfolio, you will have the opportunity to mentor and develop colleagues and make a genuine contribution to the continued success of the practice.
The Role
As a Qualified Accountant, you will manage a varied portfolio of clients and be responsible for a broad range of accounting and taxation work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and finalising limited company accounts.
- Preparing corporation tax returns.
- Preparing and reviewing LLP accounts and returns.
- Overseeing and supporting the preparation of self-assessment tax returns.
- Managing a portfolio of clients and ensuring deadlines are consistently achieved.
- Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries.
- Reviewing financial records and identifying discrepancies or areas requiring further investigation.
- Providing practical accounting and taxation support to clients.
- Reviewing bookkeeping and underlying accounting records where required.
- Supporting colleagues with technical queries.
- Mentoring and developing more junior members of the team.
- Reviewing work completed by colleagues and providing constructive feedback.
- Keeping up to date with relevant accounting and taxation legislation.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance the client experience.

About You
The successful candidate will ideally be a fully qualified accountant with previous experience gained within an accountancy practice. You will be someone who enjoys variety and is comfortable taking a hands-on approach to your work.
We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have:
- A recognised professional accountancy qualification or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience within an accountancy practice.
- Experience preparing limited company accounts.
- Good corporation tax experience.
- Experience with LLP accounts and returns.
- Experience with self-assessment tax returns.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and client relationship skills.
- A practical and commercial approach to accounting.
- The confidence to work independently within a relatively flat structure.
- A genuine interest in supporting and developing colleagues.
Experience with Xero, QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel would be advantageous, although experience with other accounting and practice management systems will also be considered.
