I am looking for an ambitious qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent) to join me in building a new boutique accountancy practice.
I currently own and operate a number of limited companies and am now looking to establish an accountancy firm focused on providing a high-quality, commercially minded service to UK limited companies, entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses.
This is not a traditional accounting job. I am looking for someone with a genuine entrepreneurial mindset who has ambitions to build and grow an accountancy practice and would like to do so with a business partner.
The opportunity can initially be developed part-time alongside your existing employment or commitments, with the intention of growing it into a substantial business over the longer term.
Your Role
As the accounting and technical lead, you would help establish the professional side of the practice, including:
- Accounts preparation and statutory reporting
- Corporation tax and tax compliance
- VAT and bookkeeping oversight
- Management accounts and financial reporting
- Advising limited-company directors and business owners
- Helping establish the firm's accounting systems, processes and compliance framework
- Developing new services and identifying opportunities to add value to clients

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Most importantly, you would work alongside me on building the business itself — developing our proposition, attracting clients, improving systems, recruiting a team over time and creating a scalable accountancy practice.
Who I'm Looking For
Ideally, you will:
- Be ACA, ACCA or equivalently qualified
- Have experience working with UK limited companies and SMEs
- Have experience within an accountancy practice or advising business owners
- Have strong knowledge of UK accounting and tax compliance
- Hold, or be capable of obtaining, the appropriate practising certificate
- Be commercially minded and comfortable speaking directly with business owners
- Be interested in technology, automation and modern ways of delivering accounting services
Above everything else, you should have entrepreneurial ambition.
You may already have thought about starting your own accountancy practice but haven't wanted to take the leap completely on your own.
What I Bring
I am an entrepreneur currently operating a number of limited companies, giving us an immediate environment in which to develop and refine the firm's systems, reporting and service model.

My focus will be on the commercial side of the business — strategy, business development, client acquisition, partnerships, systems and ultimately scaling the firm. I'm looking for someone who can complement this by taking ownership of the accounting and professional side of the practice.
Long-Term Opportunity
The intention is to build a modern boutique accountancy firm, not simply create another small bookkeeping practice.
Initially, the arrangement can be flexible and part-time. If we work well together and share the same ambitions, there is the opportunity to become a long-term business partner with an equity interest in the firm.
The exact partnership and equity structure would be discussed with the right person.
Interested?
If you're a qualified accountant who has thought: “I'd like to have my own practice one day.” I'd particularly like to hear from you.
Please apply or send me a private message with a brief introduction covering your accounting background, current situation and what attracts you to the idea of building an accountancy practice.
All conversations will be treated confidentially.
