About the Role
Oliver James are representing a specialist Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) provider who are looking to appoint a Qualified Actuary in the Business Partnering team. In this role you will partner with the Investment team and wider Finance department.
This role is perfect for an actuary who is looking for an exciting role at the forefront of the investment strategy of the business. You will need to build relationships across the business and your analysis/feedback will be visible at c-suite level.
You will be given autonomy to follow your curiosity to work out how and why investment plans will impact the business. The Matching Adjustment attestation is a key element of this role, so previous knowledge of MA would be very advantageous.

Location: London, 3 days per week in the office
Remuneration: Up to £100,000 base (dependant on experience) + 25% bonus
Example responsibilities:
- Conduct Assessment of Matching Adjustment eligibility
- Ensure new asset risks are understood
- Prepare reports for different internal audiences to showcase analysis and recommendations
- Support wider topics such ALM transfers, review of Hedge effectiveness and analysis of liquidity metrics.

Required Experience
- Qualified Actuary (nearly qualified can be considered with direct relevant experience). Similar Quantitative background can also be considered.
- Strong communication skills – this role requires building relationships with multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Strong technical knowledge of Matching Adjustments is highly desirable
- Would be well suited to someone with consultancy or internal consultancy experience but this is not mandatory.
