Job Title
The post holder will be based at West Suffolk Foundation Trust (WSFT) within the Emergency Department, under the Medical Division.
Role Description
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) will use a high degree of autonomy and complex decision-making alongside demonstrating the four pillars of practice, Clinical Practice, Leadership and Management, Education, and Research in providing healthcare that enables innovative solutions to enhance experience and improve outcomes within their specialty area.
Responsibilities
- Independent clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope of practice.
- Appropriately referring patients to relevant specialties for any necessary inpatient or outpatient investigations.
- Facilitating safe patient discharge.
Shift Pattern
This role covers a rotational shift pattern to include Days, Nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

Services
- West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds: Provides acute and secondary care services (emergency department, maternity and neonatal services, day surgery unit, eye treatment center, Macmillan unit, and children's ward). It has 500+ beds and is a partner teaching hospital of the University of Cambridge.
- Community Services: Adult and pediatric community services, provided in collaboration with West Suffolk Alliance partners, include a range of nursing, therapy, specialist, and ongoing temporary care and rehabilitation, some at our Newmarket Community Hospital.
