At Somerset Counselling Centre (SCC), we believe everyone should have access to high-quality counselling, regardless of their income or circumstances. We're expanding our network of qualified counsellors and are looking for compassionate, skilled practitioners who share our commitment to ethical, person-centred practice.
About the Role
Opportunities are available to work with:
- Private clients
- Funded counselling projects
- Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) referrals
Sessions may be delivered face-to-face from our centre in Taunton or online, depending on client needs and your availability.

- Delivering counselling sessions to a diverse client group
- Undertaking assessments and maintaining accurate client records
- Monitoring outcomes using CORE and gathering client feedback
- Participating in supervision, training and SCC activities
- Working in line with safeguarding, GDPR, confidentiality and professional standards
We're Looking For
- A recognised counselling qualification (or equivalent experience/training)
- Strong communication skills and an empathic approach
- Ability to manage a flexible caseload and work independently
- Commitment to safeguarding, diversity and ethical practice
- Confidence using IT systems and maintaining accurate records
