Are you an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified Accountant with previous experience in Audit and Media?
Have you done an all-encompassing Finance Manager role, both Cost and Revenue side with strong working knowledge of IFRS principals?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join a growing Media Group and take ownership of the UK finance function’s month-end close and financial reporting. This is a hands-on management role within a small team, offering excellent exposure across financial reporting, commercial finance, FP&A and business partnering. You will work closely with the Finance Director and senior stakeholders across Sales, Marketing and Operations, with the opportunity to develop and progress into a more senior finance role.
The Role
- You will own the month-end process from start to finish, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across the P&L and balance sheet, while acting as the first line of review for the Revenue and Cost Accountants.
- Own the end-to-end month-end close and Group reporting submissions, including P&L variance analysis and balance sheet schedules.
- Review journals, reconciliations and supporting schedules, while remaining hands-on with journal preparation when required.
- Maintain balance sheet integrity and oversee balance sheet reconciliations.
- Work closely with the Revenue Accountant on revenue recognition, collections and aged debtors.
- Ensure revenue recognition and cost accruals are applied consistently and in line with Group policy.
- Support the Finance Director with monthly management reporting, commentary, budgeting and forecasting.
- Produce commercial analysis around sites, costs, margins and different profit-share arrangements.
- Review contracts and ensure partner and landlord share structures are accurately reflected.
- Lead the financial audit alongside the Finance Director and support VAT, statutory accounts and corporation tax requirements.
- Apply UK GAAP / IFRS, including IFRS 16 and lease accounting.
- Work closely with and develop the Revenue and Cost Accountants, with longer-term line management responsibility.
- Business partner with Sales, Marketing and Operations, providing clear financial insight to support decision-making.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
