Medway Plumbing Limited is a family-run plumbing and heating business serving domestic and commercial clients across Medway and Kent. The company specializes in mechanical engineering, plumbing, heating, and gas services, including boiler installation and servicing, pipe upgrades, leak detection, power flushing, underfloor heating, and full kitchen and bathroom installations.

With years of hands-on experience, the team delivers tailored, high-quality solutions for homes and businesses and stays active in sharing industry insights, tips, and updates with its community.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Plumbing and Heating Engineer role based in Medway, London, Kent, and surrounding areas. The engineer will install, service, and repair boilers, heating systems, and plumbing fixtures in both domestic and commercial properties.

  • Diagnosing faults
  • Carrying out maintenance and repair work on water and gas pipes
  • Performing safety checks on gas appliances
  • Ensuring systems comply with relevant regulations and standards

The role involves:

  • Responding to customer call-outs
  • Completing documentation and job reports
  • Coordinating with the office team to schedule work efficiently
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

The engineer will also provide clear, respectful communication to customers, explaining issues and solutions in an understandable way and supporting the company’s reputation for reliability and safety.

Qualifications

  • Strong plumbing skills, including installation, fault finding, and repair of domestic and commercial systems.
  • Experience working with pipe systems, including water and gas pipe fitting, upgrading, and leak detection.
  • Proven maintenance and repair capabilities, including routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and emergency call-out work.
  • Effective customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and maintain professional conduct on-site.
  • Relevant plumbing and heating qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)
  • Gas Safe registration or eligibility to obtain it is a plus.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices and compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturer instructions, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to work across Medway and Kent; prior experience in domestic and commercial environments is an advantage.
  • Own Van and tools.
