Company Description

Affiliated School of JNU for Hong Kong & Macao Students is a K–12 institution serving learners from 2 to 18 years of age. The school offers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for early years and primary students, providing an inquiry-based, internationally focused curriculum. At the secondary level, the school follows the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HK DSE), preparing students for recognised regional qualifications. The school also integrates Cambridge Assessment International Education, giving students access to globally benchmarked academic pathways. Role Description

The Qualified Teacher role is a full-time, on-site position based in the GBA. The teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with IB PYP, HK DSE, and/or Cambridge curricula, depending on the assigned grade level and subject. Daily responsibilities include:

The teacher will maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment, collaborate with colleagues on curriculum and school initiatives, and communicate regularly with parents and guardians. The role also involves:

  • Supporting co-curricular activities to enrich the student experience

Qualifications

  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Education, PGCE, or equivalent) and eligibility to teach at K–12 level.
  • Experience with IB PYP, HK DSE, or Cambridge Assessment International Education curricula, or strong interest in international and inquiry-based education.
  • Proven ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective lessons for diverse learners, including use of differentiated and student-centered teaching strategies.
  • Strong classroom management skills and commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful, and safe learning environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Competence in using educational technology and digital tools to support teaching, assessment, and communication.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional growth, reflective practice, and collaboration within a multicultural school community.
  • Prior experience teaching in international or bilingual schools, and familiarity with the needs of Hong Kong and Macao students, is an advantage.
