About Citizens Advice Croydon

Citizens Advice Croydon is a well-established local charity serving the London Borough of Croydon. We make a meaningful difference to the lives of the people coming to us for help and support. We are proud of the high-quality advice we provide and we are looking for someone who will be committed to delivering excellent customer service and working to the highest standards.

The Role

The successful candidate will ideally have the required specialist debt advice accreditation and have completed training to casework level. However, we will consider appointing a trainee and to provide the training needed to achieve competence in this role. If you have experience of providing advice at generalist level or knowledge of financial services, a trainee opportunity like this may be for you.

In this role you will:

  • Assess each client's situation in depth, identifying the most appropriate strategies to resolve their debt issues
  • Explore every opportunity to maximise income
  • Guide and empower clients to understand their options
  • Take direct action for those who are more vulnerable, such as negotiating with creditors to prevent escalation and protect the client from further harm
