Research Director – Qualitative Research
London, hybrid
Salary up to £80,000
What if your research didn't just answer questions but helped clients ask better ones?
This specialist insight consultancy is known for helping some of the world's biggest brands build deeper customer empathy. Rather than delivering research in isolation, they work as strategic partners, helping clients understand the people behind the data and translating human insight into meaningful commercial decisions.
Their work spans customer experience, brand, innovation and service development, but what really sets them apart is their consultative approach. From shaping strategic briefs through to influencing business decisions, they're trusted advisors who challenge thinking, uncover opportunities and help clients see problems from a fresh perspective.
As a Qualitative Director, you'll play a pivotal role in leading this work. You'll own senior client relationships, guide projects from initial brief through to delivery, and ensure every piece of research tells a compelling story that drives action. This is a hands-on qualitative role where you'll continue to moderate research yourself, staying close to consumers and bringing genuine depth and empathy to every project.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
