Location: Wigan Head Office with regular travel to Construction sites in the centre of Manchester

Type: Full Time, Permanent (08:00 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 - 15:30 on Friday)

Salary: Competitive + Generous Benefits Package

Role Overview

The Quality Advisor will support the development, implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS), compliance frameworks and assurance processes. Working closely with project teams and business functions, the role will help ensure processes and activities are effectively controlled, consistently applied and aligned with company requirements, relevant legislation, ISO standards and industry best practice.

The role will support the company’s ISO management systems and certification journey, including maintaining management system documentation, coordinating internal and external audits, monitoring actions and improvements, and supporting the business through certification and surveillance audits.

The Quality Advisor will conduct audits across departments, project sites and management systems, identifying non-compliance, risks and opportunities for improvement, and working with stakeholders to ensure actions are effectively managed and closed out.

The role will also contribute to the development and consistent application of company processes, including the management of compliance information, the Minimum Standards Guide and systems supporting the Golden Thread of information. Working collaboratively across the business, the Quality Advisor will promote consistency, accountability, best practice and a positive culture of continual improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the development, implementation and continual improvement of the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS), covering ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 27001, supporting the business through certification and ongoing maintenance.
  • Work with departments, project teams and operational functions to improve quality and compliance across the business.
  • Coordinate and conduct internal audits, support external certification and surveillance audits, and manage findings, corrective actions and improvements through to close-out.
  • Monitor compliance with company requirements, relevant legislation, ISO standards and industry best practice.
  • Maintain management system documentation, policies, procedures, records and reporting systems.
  • Coordinate the review and maintenance of risk and opportunity registers.
  • Support the consistent implementation of company processes, procedures and best practice across project and operational teams.
  • Support the management and development of compliance and project platforms, including Sablono, Viewpoint and Monday.com.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the company’s Minimum Standards Guide and other compliance and best practice documentation.
  • Identify trends and recurring issues through audit, inspection and compliance data and support continual improvement.
  • Produce compliance reports, audit summaries and management information for HOD and Directors.
  • Coordinate relevant staff awareness and training and act as a key point of contact for external auditors.
  • Support the wider Compliance Team with onsite inspections and other compliance activities as required.
  • Act as a key point of contact for Building Safety Act updates and provide day-to-day quality and compliance support to the wider business.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably required to support the effective operation of the Compliance Team and wider business.

Key Requirements

  • Previous experience in a quality, compliance, auditing or management systems role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Practical experience conducting audits, identifying findings and managing corrective and improvement actions through to effective close-out.
  • Experience working with ISO management systems and supporting certification processes is essential.
  • Good understanding of construction processes and project delivery.
  • Knowledge of the Building Safety Act and fire safety processes is desirable.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Experience using project management, compliance or document control platforms is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the business.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership and collaborate effectively with project and operational teams.
  • A proactive, practical approach to problem-solving, with a strong focus on continual improvement.
  • Flexible and willing to support wider Compliance Team activities and priorities as required.
  • Full UK driving licence, with the ability to travel to project sites.
