Role Title: Quality Adviser – Transmission & Distribution
Introduction
As the UK transitions towards a low‑carbon energy system under the Government’s Clean Power 2030 Action Plan, resilient and flexible electricity infrastructure is critical. United Infrastructure supports this transition by delivering fully integrated power infrastructure solutions across transmission and distribution networks. As an Independent Connection Provider (ICP), we deliver end-to-end design, construction, and maintenance of electrical networks up to 400kV.
What are we looking for
As part of our services, the Power Transmission & Distribution (UIPT&D) team are seeking a full-time Quality Adviser to support the quality management processes and controls in the delivery of a significant project to our client.
The project, based in Alness, Scotland, is to construct and install energy transmission infrastructure covering approximately 80km of the Scottish Highlands between Loch Buidhe to Beauly.
About the role
Reporting to the Quality Lead, the Quality Adviser is responsible for supporting the implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of quality management systems across the project.
The role ensures that all works are planned, executed, and documented in compliance with contractual requirements, company procedures, and applicable industry standards, while promoting a culture of right‑first‑time delivery.
The role operates as a key member of the project HSEQ leadership team and provides assurance to both internal management and the client that quality risks are effectively controlled throughout the project lifecycle.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
