Where will you be working?

At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.

We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.

This role will be within our Transmission & Renewables team - We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.

Building on our excellent relationships with our customers, M Group continues to expand our workbook to deliver Overhead Line projects to the highest standard across the UK. To meet these exciting opportunities, we are looking for an enthusiastic and competent Quality Advisor to work within our Overhead Lines business with our Energy Infrastructure Division.

What will you be doing?

  • Develop and maintain quality plans, inspection and test plans, process maps, procedures, and document control systems to ensure compliance with management system requirements.
  • Work with project teams, process owners, and stakeholders to establish clear, effective quality guidance and operational procedures.
  • Plan and support internal audits, participate in customer, third-party, certification, and accreditation audits, and ensure adherence to agreed standards.
  • Manage non-conformances, including raising, tracking, investigating, and closing actions, while supporting the implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and industry developments to ensure alignment with best practice and compliance requirements.
  • Provide quality assurance advice, coaching, and practical solutions to project and operational teams.
  • Support the investigation of quality issues through trend analysis and root cause analysis, driving continuous improvement and preventative action.
  • Promote the sharing of lessons learned and best practice to improve quality performance and right-first-time delivery.
  • Assist bid and project teams with quality assurance requirements, responses, and documentation.
  • Analyse audit results and quality performance data, producing reports and insights to support management reviews and decision-making.
  • Attend meetings and governance forums to provide quality expertise, performance insight, and support the resolution of quality-related issues.
  • Contribute to SHEQ governance and continuous improvement initiatives through collaborative working groups and stakeholder engagement.

What You’ll Bring

  • Quality Management/Internal Audit qualification (e.g. ISO 9001, BSI Internal Auditor).
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems, process improvement methodologies, and audit practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and deliver to deadlines.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to coach and influence at all levels.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively, with a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, and quality assurance activities.
  • Knowledge of British Standards, root cause analysis techniques, and process mapping.
  • Experience working in a site-based environment and holding (or working towards) a CSCS card.
  • Proficient in using IT systems to capture, manage, and report quality information.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, balancing operational, reporting, and meeting commitments.
  • Approachable coaching style with the ability to support operational teams on technical quality matters.
