The Role

XOXO is seeking an experienced Quality & Compliance Manager to oversee product quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance across the UK and EU markets. This role is critical in ensuring that all products manufactured through our co-manufacturing partners meet required standards from production through to market release. You will act as the key point of contact for quality assurance across our external manufacturing network, ensuring consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing

Quality and Production Oversight

  • Manage quality assurance across all co-manufacturing partners (co-packers)
  • Review and approve batch production records and filling reports
  • Analyse production data, including:
    • Fill level variances
    • Batch consistency
    • Deviations and non-conformances
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues with manufacturers
  • Implement and maintain quality standards and KPIs across production sites
  • Define and manage testing requirements for beverages and implement with our co-manufacturers

Regulatory Compliance (UK & EU)

  • Ensure all products comply with UK and EU food and beverage regulations
  • Ensure documentation required for audits, certifications, and market entry
  • Oversee and work with the marketing/design team on product labelling, including:
    • Ingredients and allergens
    • Nutritional information
    • Claims and declarations
    • Market-specific labelling and recycling requirements
  • Manage Sedex account and new customer onboarding from a quality and regulatory perspective
  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes and implement necessary updates

Supply Chain Collaboration

Work closely with:

  • Co-packers (contract manufacturers)
  • 3PL providers (logistics and warehousing partners)
  • Ensure proper quality handling, storage, and traceability audit throughout the supply chain
  • Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews
  • Manage onboarding of new suppliers
  • Support the supply chain team by managing ad-hoc kitting reworks requiring new SOPs or packaging methods
  • Work with procurement to review sourcing materials, formats, and suppliers

Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain QA systems and documentation
  • Manage internal product training and sensory checks
  • Run annual internal traceability audits to review our supply chain and customer service processes
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions (CAPA)
  • Improve processes for efficiency, compliance, and product consistency
  • Manage review of all Operations and Supply Chain SOPs

Project Management

  • Use tools like Asana and Gantt charts to manage project timelines and priorities
  • Support the New Product Development team with new flavour launches and new packaging formats development

Who you are

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Organised, solution-oriented, and proactive
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, high attention to detail
  • Experienced in logistics, procurement, and/or supply chain management
  • Proficient in Excel, confident in analysing and managing data
  • Confident communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience in quality assurance within soft drinks or beverages
  • Experience working with co-manufacturers (co-packers) and 3PL partners
  • Strong knowledge of UK and/or EU food regulations and labelling laws
  • Experience reviewing lab reports and basic understanding of microbiology checks for food safety

Preferred Experience

  • Understanding of beverage production processes
  • Familiarity with food safety standards (e.g. HACCP, BRCGS, ISO standards)
  • Background in scaling beverage brands with outsourced production
  • Experience preparing for or managing audits
