We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality and Improvement Manager to join the Health in Justice service at Practice Plus Group.
You will work across the London and East Directorate which covers our prisons across London and the East of England.
This role is home based, with travel to sites across the directorate as required.
This is a senior leadership role, reporting to the Directorate Head of Nursing and Quality. The post is focused on clinical governance, quality improvement, patient safety, risk management, and supporting healthcare services across prisons and other justice settings.
This role will give you the opportunity to work closely with senior clinical and operational leaders to ensure high standards of care, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across services.
Salary & Hours
This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5:30pm.
You will receive an annual salary of £45,000 to £50,000 per annum.

What you'll be doing
As the Quality & Improvement Manager your responsibilities will vary. You will:
- Lead regional quality assurance and governance activities.
- Support healthcare teams to deliver safe, effective, and continuously improving services.
- Promote a culture of accountability, learning, and improvement.
- Ensure governance priorities are understood and implemented across services.
- Help develop and implement the Health in Justice governance strategy.
- Translate strategic objectives into practical improvements at service level.
- Work with senior nursing and medical leaders to embed governance standards.
- Work collaboratively to improve service quality and patient outcomes.
- Coach and support managers and clinical teams.
- Encourage reflective practice and continuous learning.
- Monitor changes in healthcare practice and governance requirements.
- Support services to implement changes in policy and practice.

Qualifications, skills and experience required:
- A clinical qualification or a relevant degree with equivalent experience.
- Experience working in risk management within a healthcare setting.
- Experience analysing healthcare data
- Experience managing and reporting clinical incidents in line with national requirements.
- Experience producing reports for both operational teams and senior management.
- Experience handling and formally responding to complaints.
- Strong understanding of CQC compliance standards.
- Knowledge of patient safety and risk reduction tools.
- Knowledge of governance, quality improvement, and healthcare assurance processes.
- Strong leadership capability.
- Experience driving quality improvement and governance initiatives.
