Quality and Performance Manager

Location: Suffolk, England (Sizewell C Infrastructure Framework)
Type: Full-time (45 hours | 07:30 - 17:30)

About the Client

Our client is a leading UK infrastructure, construction, and engineering group currently supporting the civil infrastructure delivery framework for Sizewell C - a flagship 3.2GW nuclear power project on the Suffolk coast. Operating within the integrated Technical Delivery Team, they manage high-integrity engineering, temporary works, BIM, design governance, and quality assurance.

Role Overview

Reports to the Chief Engineer within the Technical Delivery Team to oversee all aspects of quality compliance, inspection, and assurance across civil infrastructure works. Owns the project quality and handover strategies to guarantee full compliance with specifications and ensure seamless handover to the ultimate nuclear project client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Leadership & Team Management: Own project quality and handover strategies. Direct line management of Quality Inspectors and Handover/Completion Engineers.
  • Inspection & Quality Control: Oversee site quality inspections, monitor compliance with project specifications, and manage the Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) process, material acceptance forms (MAF), and product traceability (Certificates of Conformity, lab testing).
  • Documentation & Lifetime Records: Review and approve core quality deliverables, including Lifetime Quality Records (LTQR), End of Construction Status Reports (ECSR), Product Approval Records, and RAMS.
  • Audits & Non-Conformance: Drive identification and resolution of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Manage quality audits across internal operations, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Interface regularly with Project Managers, Sub-Agents, internal quality leads, and Client Surveillance teams. Deliver quality briefings and training.

  • Education & Professional Certifications: HND or Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. Valid CSCS card required.
  • Core Experience: Proven experience managing quality activities within heavy civils, infrastructure, earthworks, or major building projects. Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, computer literacy, and accurate reporting skills.
  • Desirable Criteria: Experience in nuclear environments (understanding Nuclear Safety Culture); ISO 9001 training; working toward professional quality membership; experience with digital quality/reporting tools (Power BI, BIM 360 Field, Dalux, Field View).
