Quality and Risk Manager
Location: The Harborne Hospital, Birmingham
Position: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Type: Permanent
On site: 5 days a week
Compensation: Competitive salary + Benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development)
We’re looking for an experienced Quality and Risk Manager to join our Governance team based at The Harborne Hospital.
Role Overview
As the Quality and Risk Manager, you will lead on the implementation and delivery of a range of governance activities with a particular focus on risk, incidents and complaint investigations, whilst supporting The Harborne Hospital to meet the regulatory requirements of external standards and inspections.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the implementation and delivery of governance activities with a focus on risk, incidents, and complaints.
- Support the hospital in meeting regulatory requirements for external standards and inspections.
- Manage and coordinate investigations and learning responses of all incidents, liaising with Heads of Department and the Senior Leadership Team.
- Create and present reports to relevant Hospital committees, including trend analysis and advice for key stakeholders.
- Implement and monitor the facility-wide Audit Programme.
- Work with HCA UK Corporate Clinical Services Department and local Heads of Departments to ensure a standardised approach to CQC inspection compliance.
- Act as the Policy Controller and direct the policy reviewer where needed.
- Oversee and implement the risk management processes, including regular reviews of the departmental and facility risk register.

Required Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of developing and embedding governance frameworks.
- Knowledge of CQC inspection and other healthcare accreditations frameworks.
- Previous experience and knowledge of governance, incident & risk management, and quality improvement.
- Good IT skills including Excel, Word, Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written, including good presentation skills.
