Job Opportunity: Quality Assistant
We are currently recruiting for a Quality Assistant at our new chilled potato product packing site in Boston, Lincolnshire.
Shift & Hours of Work
- 4 days on, 4 days off - rolling shift
- Working 06:00hrs to 18:00hrs
Rate of Pay
- Depending on experience
Responsibilities
- Perform regular inspections and walk throughs of the production area to ensure the environment is hygienic, staff are wearing appropriate clothing (hairnets, gloves), and machines are clean
- Monitor and record the temperatures of storage refrigerators, freezers and requested areas.
- Test safety equipment such as metal detectors and X-ray machines to verify they are functioning correctly and being used as per the correct process.
- Collect samples of raw materials, semi-finished foods, and finished products for laboratory testing (moisture control, and micro-testing for bacteria). Collect and prepare laboratory samples and track results
- Ensure food portions are accurately weighted and that packaging accurately lists allergens and legal descriptions.
- Regularly test and calibrate scales, temperature probes, and other measuring devices for the production.
- Record accurate data on quality checks, waste, and traceability daily.
- Conduct daily / weekly GMP, CCP, audits, and take ownership for all verifications, with company and customer standards.
- Conduct taste panels as required
- Perform swabs when and where necessary
- Check all Production documents and communicate if any problems are found

- Food safety level 2 or above and HACCP
- Experience in quality assurance/quality control
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office systems
- Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills for effective interactions with staff at various levels
- Keen attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving attitude
