Role Overview
As a Technical Advanced Operator, you'll play a key role within the Technical team, supporting the delivery of safe, legal, and high-quality products across the site. Working closely with Production and Technical colleagues, you'll help maintain compliance with customer, company, and regulatory standards while promoting a culture where food safety and quality are at the heart of everything we do.
Key Duties
- Ensure production areas and equipment are operating to the required food safety, hygiene, and performance standards before production begins.
- Verify products consistently meet customer specifications, legal requirements, and internal standards.
- Inspect incoming raw materials and ingredients to confirm compliance with site specifications.
- Monitor and calibrate weighing and temperature monitoring equipment, escalating issues where required.
- Check product labelling to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Carry out routine quality, food safety, and process audits in line with site procedures.
- Identify, investigate, and report non-conformances, supporting effective corrective actions.
- Collect product samples for laboratory analysis and testing.
- Support production teams with the accurate completion of quality and food safety records.
- Carry out process control checks throughout production to ensure product specifications are maintained.
- Promote a right-first-time culture and support continuous improvement across the operation.
- Communicate any issues that may impact product quality, food safety, or production performance.

Ideal Candidate
- Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification or equivalent.
- Experience within a food manufacturing, quality, technical, or compliance environment.
- Knowledge of quality auditing and process verification activities.
- Understanding of food safety, product quality, and manufacturing standards.
- Experience working within chilled, frozen, or food production environments would be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and investigate issues.
- Able to prioritise workloads and manage multiple activities effectively.
- Good communication skills and confidence working with production teams.
- Competent using Microsoft Office and electronic recording systems.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills with a focus on accuracy.
- A proactive approach and commitment to maintaining high standards across the site.
