Quality Assurance Administrator

Salary - £27,000

Gateshead (Baltic) | Full-time | Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

Every energy contract NGP places needs to be right. Right for the customer, compliant with supplier agreements, and defensible under audit. When something doesn’t add up—a product explanation that wasn’t delivered properly, a due diligence step that was missed, a pattern of behavior that raises a red flag—someone has to catch it. That’s you.

As a Quality Assurance Administrator, you’ll sit within the Services team, reporting to the Quality Assurance Team Manager. Your role is to review and validate sales activity against regulatory requirements and internal policies, consolidate contracts with customers via phone and email, and maintain the compliance controls that protect both the business and its customers. You’ll combine a sharp eye for detail with clear, professional communication to ensure every contract that goes through meets the standard.

If you’re someone who notices what others miss—who can work through a compliance checklist with precision one moment and pick up the phone to consolidate a contract the next—this role gives you a genuine specialism in sales compliance within one of Europe’s largest energy consultancies.

What you’ll actually be doing

  • Completing sales compliance checks on customer contracts, verifying product explanations, due diligence steps, and adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Consolidating contractual agreements with customers using telephone and email communication, confirming terms, resolving queries, and ensuring the customer understands what they’ve signed up to
  • Recording and summarising compliance check outcomes for audit purposes, including management and key stakeholder review
  • Investigating irregularities and non-compliance issues, identifying root causes, documenting findings, and escalating where appropriate
  • Establishing and maintaining a working knowledge of contract criteria for multiple energy suppliers, staying current as terms, products, and requirements evolve
  • Identifying and recording areas of concern, including behavior patterns that emerge from compliance checks, and reporting risk factors and compliance performance back to the business
  • Educating employees on regulations and their impact on customers and the organisation—feeding back findings in a way that drives improvement, not just correction
  • Reviewing marketing materials, presentations, and website content to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborating with other departments to build a culture of compliance and ensure adherence to company operating policies and procedures
  • Assisting in the gathering of internal information in response to regulatory requests, and performing general administrative duties including file creation and maintenance of ongoing compliance projects

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

A typical day will involve a mix of structured compliance work and direct customer engagement. You might spend the morning working through a batch of contract checks, listening to call recordings, reviewing documentation, and flagging anything that doesn’t meet the standard. After lunch, you’re on the phone with a customer consolidating a contract, then writing up your findings for a management review. Some days you’ll be investigating a specific compliance concern in depth; other days, you’ll be feeding back trends to the sales floor. The work requires focus, judgement, and the ability to switch between detailed analytical tasks and live customer conversations.

What makes this rewarding

  • You’re the last line of defence. Every contract you check protects a customer and safeguards the business. When you flag something, it matters—your work directly shapes the integrity of the sales operation.
  • Genuine variety. Contract checks, customer consolidation calls, investigations, marketing reviews, cross-departmental collaboration—no two days are the same. You won’t be stuck doing one thing on repeat.
  • A specialism worth building. Sales compliance, regulatory awareness, and quality assurance are high-value, transferable skills. The experience you gain here carries weight across the energy sector and regulated industries more broadly.
  • Influence beyond your desk. You won’t just catch mistakes, you’ll educate teams, identify trends, and help shape how the business operates. Your insights feed directly into management decision-making and continuous improvement.

What’s in it for you

  • Salary £27,000
  • 23 days holiday + additional December leave + bank holidays
  • Pension and access to Simplyhealth (money towards dental care, eyesight checks, physio, etc.)

Your first 90 days

Weeks 1–3: Structured induction into NGP’s sales operation, supplier landscape, compliance framework, and CRM systems. You’ll shadow experienced team members on live compliance checks, learn the contract criteria for key suppliers, and begin handling straightforward checks and customer consolidation calls under supervision.

Weeks 4–8: You’re running your own compliance checks independently. Contract reviews, consolidation calls, and irregularity investigations are flowing through you. You understand the supplier criteria across the portfolio and you’re starting to spot patterns—recurring issues, areas of risk, trends that need reporting. Your audit documentation is clear, accurate, and consistent.

Weeks 9–12: You’re operating as a fully trusted member of the QA team. Complex investigations, sensitive non-compliance issues, and cross-departmental feedback are handled with confidence. The QA Team Manager relies on your judgement. Your compliance reports are feeding into management decision-making, and you’re actively contributing to improvements in the sales operation’s compliance culture.

This is for you, if

  • You have prior experience in a compliance, quality assurance, or audit-related role
  • You have a critical problem-solving ability—a keen eye for anomalies and a clear understanding of the procedure to correct an issue
  • You can analyse and interpret information quickly—whether that’s contract documentation, call recordings, or compliance data
  • You have high attention to detail and a strong control mindset—you don’t let things slide
  • You’re proficient with computer systems and CRM platforms, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • You’re an excellent communicator, both written and verbal—comfortable producing detailed compliance reports and articulating concise feedback to senior stakeholders
  • You can adapt to changes in internal policies and the external regulatory landscape without losing momentum
  • You remain calm under pressure and can handle sensitive conversations professionally
  • You work well both as part of a team and independently—self-motivated enough to manage your own workload and tenacious enough to see investigations through to resolution
  • Experience and knowledge of the energy industry is desirable but not essential—a strong compliance background and the right mindset are what matter
