About the Role

A new appointment has arisen to join Calderdale Youth Justice Service as a Quality Assurance and Improvement Officer. This role is pivotal in improving practice and driving forward consistency in the services we offer to children, young people and families.

In this role you will be leading on the quality assurance activity within the Youth Justice Service, you will work positively with the team, monitoring the quality of the work by undertaking audits, analysing themes and trends, identify action and implement wider learning opportunities. You will work in partnership with the Youth Justice Management Board and senior leadership team in reviewing policies and procedures and providing detailed reports of your findings. You will also undertake thematic audits that address key national issues and contribute to inspections.

Requirements

  • Recent experience of working within the Youth Justice sector
  • Experience of analysing performance
  • Ability to demonstrate how good practice looks
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Remaining curious while being empathetic
  • Ability to analyse findings to provide detailed concise reports
  • A recognised Social Care Qualification or equivalent or Youth / Criminal Justice qualification is essential

  • This role is based in the UK. Home Office guidance states that candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK prior to commencing employment, either as a UK or Irish citizen, under the EU Settlement scheme or having secured any other relevant work visa.
  • If you do not have the right to work in the UK, you must consider your own eligibility for sponsorship for a particular role through the Skilled Worker visa route before applying. To be eligible for sponsorship you'll usually need to be paid the standard salary rate of at least £41,700 per year (unless exceptions apply) and meet the other eligibility criteria.
