We’re working with an established FinTech business in Newcastle that is looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join its growing team.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on strengthening QA capability through automation, AI-assisted testing, and continuous improvement.

You’ll build, maintain, and execute automated UI and API test suites, helping to improve software quality, reduce repetitive manual testing, and support faster, more confident software delivery. Working closely with Product, Engineering, QA, and other internal stakeholders, you’ll help identify testing risks, investigate defects, and ensure testing remains aligned with delivery priorities.

Please note, this is a hybrid role in Newcastle.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Design, maintain, and execute automated UI and API tests using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent frameworks
  • Use AI-assisted testing tools to support test creation, maintenance, failure analysis, defect triage, and regression risk identification
  • Write clear, reliable, and maintainable test code
  • Run automated tests through CI/CD pipelines
  • Debug failing tests and identify issues across products, tests, data, and environments
  • Maintain stable, relevant, and efficient regression test suites
  • Review requirements and technical changes to identify test scenarios, edge cases, and automation opportunities
  • Investigate and clearly document defects
  • Use test results, defect trends, and pipeline feedback to identify improvements to QA practices
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and QA teams

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
