Job Title: Quality & Compliance Manager
Reports To: Clinical Director
Responsible For: Home Managers (Where applicable)
Location: Multi-site role across the group’s care homes. Frequent travel to homes within the group is required.
Job Purpose
To support the Clinical Director in maintaining and improving clinical governance, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and resident safety across the group’s care homes. The post holder will undertake clinical audits, analyse performance data, support risk management processes, and assist homes in meeting CQC standards and organisational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Governance & Compliance
- Support the Clinical Director in monitoring and maintaining clinical compliance across all homes within the group.
- Conduct regular audits of clinical practices, care documentation, medication management, infection prevention and control (IPC), health and safety, and wound care management.
- Assist homes in preparing for CQC inspections and maintaining compliance with the CQC Single Assessment Framework.
- Review action plans following audits and inspections and support homes in implementing improvements.
- Monitor compliance against company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Auditing & Quality Assurance
- Carry out scheduled and ad hoc audits across the group’s care homes.
- Analyse audit findings and identify trends, risks, and areas requiring improvement.
- Produce accurate reports and present findings to the Clinical Director and senior management team.
- Support homes in developing and implementing quality improvement plans.
- Monitor completion of actions arising from audits and compliance reviews.

Risk Management
- Support the identification, assessment, and management of clinical and operational risks.
- Assist in investigating incidents, accidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns, and clinical events.
- Ensure risk assessments are completed, reviewed, and updated appropriately.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safe clinical practice.
Medication Management
- Support auditing and monitoring of medication systems and practices.
- Ensure compliance with medication policies, legislation, and best practice guidance.
- Identify areas of risk relating to medication management and support corrective actions.
Infection Prevention & Control (IPC)
- Assist with IPC audits and monitoring across all homes.
- Support implementation of infection prevention and control standards and best practices.
- Monitor compliance with policies and provide guidance where improvements are required.
Training & Support
- Provide practical support and guidance to home managers and clinical teams.
- Promote best practice in clinical governance, compliance, and quality assurance.
- Support implementation of new policies, procedures, and quality initiatives.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working within the Health and Social Care sector.
- Good understanding of adult social care regulations and standards.
- Excellent knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and the CQC Single Assessment Framework.
- Experience of conducting audits and monitoring compliance.
- Knowledge of risk management processes and clinical governance.
- Understanding of safe medication management practices.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPC).
- Understanding of wound management and associated clinical practices.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice.
