Role Overview
Wright Engineering is looking for an experienced and proactive Quality Assurance professional to support and oversee quality requirements across fabrication, painting/coating and site assembly activities.
The successful candidate will initially be based at Wright Engineering’s Head Office in Worksop for approximately two months to become familiar with the company’s processes, standards and operations. Following this initial period, the role will be based in Stansted.
The position will involve assessing and scoping quality requirements throughout the project lifecycle, from fabrication and paint/coating through to final assembly on site. The role will help ensure that work is completed to the required specifications, drawings, quality standards and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Scope and establish quality requirements for fabrication, painting/coating and site assembly activities.
- Review fabrication work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and agreed quality standards.
- Monitor and inspect fabrication quality, identifying defects or non-conformances and ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken.
- Oversee paint and coating quality, including preparation, application and finished condition.
- Develop and maintain appropriate quality inspection requirements and documentation.
- Carry out quality inspections and checks throughout the manufacturing and installation process.
- Support quality assurance during site assembly and installation activities.
- Liaise with fabrication teams, site teams, project management and other relevant stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues.
- Identify potential quality risks at an early stage and recommend appropriate preventative or corrective measures.
- Ensure quality records, inspection reports and supporting documentation are accurately maintained.
- Assist with the continuous improvement of quality processes and standards across workshop and site operations.
- Promote a strong quality-focused culture and ensure work is delivered to the required standard.

Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience within an engineering, fabrication or structural steel environment.
- Good knowledge of fabrication and welding processes.
- An understanding of industrial painting and coating processes.
- Experience of inspection and quality control within a workshop and/or site environment.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify potential quality issues.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- The confidence to work with fabrication, project and site teams to ensure quality requirements are achieved.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of quality matters from fabrication through to final site assembly.

Working Arrangements
The role will initially be based at Wright Engineering's Head Office in Worksop for approximately two months, before becoming based in Stansted.
Standard working hours are 9:00am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday, although flexibility can be offered depending on project and operational requirements.
Salary will be dependent on experience and discussed with suitable candidates.
