Salary: AP07 (£26,110 - £30,765)

Hours: 37 hours per week to be worked in accordance with the requirements of the role

An opportunity has arisen for a proactive and collaborative Quality Assurance Coordinator to join The Isle of Wight College.

As a key member of the Quality Team, the Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for supporting the effective monitoring, evaluation and continuous improvement of quality across all college provision, including Higher Education and Apprenticeships. Through mentoring, coaching and guidance, the postholder will promote best practice and provide expert advice on quality assurance systems, processes and procedures.

This is a cross-college role that involves working collaboratively with lecturers, assessors, internal verifiers, support staff, managers, senior leaders and external stakeholders, including awarding organisations and franchise partners, to drive quality improvement and ensure compliance across all areas of provision.

The Quality Assurance Coordinator will also act as the College's primary point of contact for awarding organisations, maintaining effective relationships and supporting the successful management of quality assurance requirements and external verification processes.

Working across the College

In This Role Your Main Responsibilities Will Be To

  • Maintain and monitor quality systems and procedures to ensure compliance with college standards, awarding bodies, and end-point assessment organisations.
  • Collaborate with quality, curriculum, and leadership teams to review, develop, and improve quality assurance processes across all provision.
  • Produce quality reports, analyse risks, and make recommendations to support continuous improvement.
  • Monitor external quality assurance activity, ensuring actions are implemented to address areas for development and promote best practice.
  • Act as the college's Quality Nominee and main contact for awarding bodies and end-point assessment organisations.
  • Support managers, Lead IVs, and staff through guidance, training, and advice to ensure compliance with awarding body requirements and effective quality assurance practices.
  • Manage centre approvals, programme registrations, annual awarding body reviews, and related quality documentation.
  • Maintain and develop quality tracking systems, including e-ILP and Etracker, to support curriculum and apprenticeship provision.
  • Contribute to quality audits, monitoring activities, self-assessment processes, and inspection readiness, including Ofsted requirements.
  • Investigate suspected malpractice, ensuring regulatory requirements are met and lessons learned are embedded into practice.
  • Support evidence-based quality improvement through data analysis, audits, stakeholder feedback, and monitoring activities.
  • Ensure quality policies and procedures remain compliant, current, and aligned with college and awarding body requirements.
  • Work effectively under pressure, responding proactively to emerging issues and meeting challenging deadlines.

What You Will Need

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Require

  • Maths and English GCSE (grade 4 / level C) / Functional Skills Level 2, or be willing to complete within 18 months of joining the college
  • Assessor and Verifier qualification e.g. A1/V1 or Level 3 award or certificate in assessing vocational achievement or willingness to complete within 3 years of joining the college
  • Good knowledge and understanding of further education, higher education and apprenticeships
