About the Company:
Our partner, a pioneering UK-based FinTech company, is revolutionising the personal tax landscape with the UK's first AI-powered Self Assessment solution. They are dedicated to transforming how accountants and individuals file compliant tax returns directly to HMRC, leveraging innovation, automation, and intelligent design. This dynamic scale-up is at the forefront of digitalising tax processes, making them more efficient, accurate, and user-friendly. They are now expanding their team and looking for a talented Junior QA Engineer to join them in Warwickshire.
About the Role:
This role is ideal for an ambitious graduate or early-career professional with a passion for quality and a keen interest in software testing. As a Junior QA Engineer, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the reliability and robustness of their cutting-edge AI-powered Self Assessment platform. You will be instrumental in designing, executing, and automating end-to-end test cases for key user journeys and complex financial workflows, primarily utilising Cypress. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your expertise in a fast-paced FinTech environment, working with modern web technologies and directly contributing to a product that impacts thousands of users.

Responsibilities:
- Design and develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for new features and existing functionalities.
- Execute manual and automated tests to identify software defects and ensure product quality.
- Create and maintain end-to-end automated test suites using Cypress.
- Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to understand requirements and ensure testability.
- Report, track, and manage defects through to resolution, ensuring clear and accurate documentation.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and testing strategies.
- Validate key user journeys and complex financial workflows within the Self Assessment solution.
Requirements:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated strong interest in software testing, quality assurance, or development.
- Hands-on experience with Cypress or similar end-to-end testing frameworks.
- Understanding of core testing concepts, principles, and methodologies.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a curious mindset about system behaviour.
- Clear and concise communication skills for articulating technical issues.
- Interest in web applications and modern development practices.
