We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our Cambridge-based CAD / PLM engineering team, contributing to the quality and reliability of complex, cloud-enabled product development platforms.
This role sits within a modern SaaS-oriented PLM environment, where CAD and PLM capabilities are delivered through scalable backend services, rich web-based user interfaces, and cloud-native infrastructure. You will work closely with full-stack engineers, frontend developers, and DevOps teams to ensure high quality across the entire solution.
Quality is treated as a shared responsibility, and this role is embedded directly within agile development teams.
What You’ll Do
- Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated tests for CAD / PLM web applications
- Validate functionality across frontend UI, backend services, APIs, and data layers
- Test complex workflows typical of CAD / PLM domains (configuration, data integrity, performance, integration points)
- Contribute to and extend test automation frameworks (UI and API level)
- Collaborate closely with engineers working in TypeScript and Node.js (NestJS / Express)
- Test frontend applications built with Angular and modern UI patterns
- Validate backend logic using ORMs such as TypeORM, Prisma, or equivalent, and SQL databases
- Support testing in cloud-native and containerized environments, including Kubernetes
- Participate in CI/CD pipelines, ensuring tests are executed as part of build and deployment processes
- Perform regression, integration, exploratory, and acceptance testing
- Actively participate in defect triage, root cause analysis, and quality improvement discussions

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
