Role Summary
To take an active role within the Quality Department, ensuring that products, materials, manufacturing processes and quality documentation meet company, customer and regulatory requirements.
The role combines hands-on quality assurance, support quality inspections, NCRs, customer complaints, corrective actions, quality documentation, process improvement and internal and external audits.
The role will work closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, suppliers and customers.
To fully comply with the company Management Systems, incorporating Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Quality Assurance
- Verify material certificates and supplier documentation.
- Check Chinese and European material certificates where required.
- Raise and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Review and keep log of supplier NCRs and corrective actions.
- Manage corrective and preventative actions for internal NCRs.
- Review manufacturing records and ensure they are complete and traceable.
- Complete and review traceability forms.
- Review pressure, water flow and electrical test records.
- Support product certification and testing activities.
- Carry out pre-test, pre-paint and final inspections.
- Witness and sign off required testing activities.
- Support motor functional performance validation.
Inspection & Test Plans
- Create, review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Progress ITPs through the manufacturing process.
- Complete required inspection and test signoffs.
- Ensure inspection and testing records are complete and accurate.
- Support ITP activities for projects where required.
Customer Complaints & Problem Solving
- Investigate customer complaints and quality issues.
- Carry out Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Prepare and review 8D and 3C reports.
- Use problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone / Ishikawa, Trend Analysis.
- Agree and monitor corrective actions.
- Support with implementing preventative actions.
- Support customer-specific quality systems and documentation.

Quality Engineering
- Support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and process reviews.
- Create and update process maps.
- Create and update Works Instructions and Procedures.
- Review and update Route Cards.
- Support improvements to manufacturing and quality processes.
- Identify opportunities to reduce defects, rework and recurring quality problems.
Quality Documentation
- Maintain quality records and documentation.
- Use and update the Document Management System (DMS).
- Use relevant systems such as ROIMS where required.
- Review Purchase Specifications.
- Prepare customer-specific quality documentation and document packs.
- Ensure documentation is accurate, complete and properly controlled.
Auditing
- Support internal quality audits.
- Prepare audit reports and follow up corrective actions.
- Support supplier audits.
- Support customer audits.
- Support ISO and other third-party certification audits.
- Assist with audit preparation and provide required quality records.
Supplier Quality
- Review supplier quality documentation.
- Review supplier manufacturing records.
- Manage supplier NCRs and corrective actions.
- Work with suppliers and purchasing to resolve quality issues.
- Support supplier quality improvement activities and audits.
Skills & Experience Requirements
- Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering or a similar manufacturing role.
- Experience with NCRs and corrective actions.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis and problem-solving.
- Knowledge of 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa or similar techniques.
- Experience with ITPs, inspection records and quality documentation.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work with Production, Engineering, suppliers and customers.

- Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001.
- Internal auditing experience.
- Experience with PFMEA and process mapping.
- Experience with supplier and customer audits.
- Experience with technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience with material certification and product traceability.
- Experience using a Quality or Document Management System.

Working Hours
37.5 hours (Mon-Thu 8:00-16:45, Fri 8:00-12:30)
