QA Engineer | Remote (UK) | £40,000 - £45,000
I'm working with an innovative technology business that develops software enabling organisations to deliver large-scale voice and video conferencing services.
As the business continues to grow its platform, they're looking for a QA Engineer to join the Quality Engineering team and play a key role in improving the reliability, stability and overall quality of their software.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on testing, test automation and problem solving, while working closely with talented software engineers on a technically challenging product used by customers internationally.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing and producing automated tests, manual testing and test plans
- Identifying risks, edge cases and unintended behaviour through strong critical thinking
- Investigating and troubleshooting issues independently
- Working closely with developers, UX/UI and wider engineering teams
- Supporting software releases and deployment activities
- Improving testing approaches, quality processes and overall test coverage
- Using testing and observability tools including Allure, Kibana and ClickUp
- Working across different areas of the platform while managing changing priorities

What You'll Bring:
- 5+ years' relevant experience in software QA/testing, although candidates with more or less experience are encouraged to apply
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to investigation and test coverage
- Strong understanding of APIs, databases, Git and general software architecture
- Experience working autonomously and taking ownership
- Excellent problem-solving and investigative skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience collaborating closely with software engineering teams
- A genuine interest in how software quality impacts the customer experience

Nice to Have:
- Experience with Playwright, Bruno or similar automation frameworks
- Experience working with virtual machines
- Understanding of networking and connectivity troubleshooting
- Confidence using command-line tools across Linux or other operating systems
- Familiarity with performance, load or resilience testing
Why This Role?
You'll join an established engineering team working on a single product with multiple releases each year. The environment is data-driven, collaborative and highly autonomous, with plenty of opportunity to learn, take ownership and work alongside talented engineers on challenging technical problems.
The role is primarily remote, although being within a reasonable distance of offices in the South West is advantageous.
