About The Role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team at Booth Welsh. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency and productivity for our clients. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, electrical engineers, and clients, to deliver innovative automation systems that align with project specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in control systems, PLC programming, and SCADA systems, along with excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to project execution. Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Proven experience in automation engineering, particularly with PLC programming (such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider Electric), and familiarity with SCADA systems is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols, HMI development, and control system integration is required.
  • The candidate should demonstrate excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues effectively.
  • Certifications in relevant automation technologies or project management are advantageous.
  • A proactive mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automation control systems tailored to client specifications, ensuring functionality, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Program and commission PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems to optimize operational workflows.
  • Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with project teams to define technical requirements, develop project timelines, and deliver solutions within budget.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients and internal teams to facilitate smooth system integration and operation.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system designs, configurations, and modifications for future reference.
  • Stay updated with the latest automation technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve service offerings.
  • Participate in project meetings, contribute to technical proposals, and assist in the development of innovative automation strategies.
