QA Engineer (Manual Testing)

100% Remote – Anywhere in the UK

£200–£250 per day (Outside IR35 or via an Umbrella company)

Contract Duration

6 months contract with the view to be extended.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join a growing engineering team on an exciting transformation programme. This is an opportunity to play a key role in building a quality-first engineering culture, working on modern SaaS products and helping deliver reliable, scalable software through robust testing and automation.

This is a 100% remote contract, open to candidates based anywhere in the UK.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Driving quality across products and features from planning through to release.
  • Designing, developing and executing comprehensive test strategies.
  • Building and maintaining automated test frameworks for web applications and APIs.
  • Performing functional, regression, performance, stress and accessibility testing.
  • Working closely with developers to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Identifying risks early and ensuring high-quality software is delivered at pace.
  • Supporting the evolution of QA processes, standards and best practices.
  • Measuring quality through meaningful metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Engineering.
  • Experience testing modern web applications and REST APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with test planning, test design, execution and automation.
  • Experience with performance, stress and regression testing.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Experience with both black-box and white-box testing.
  • Understanding of accessibility testing and security testing practices.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps, including Test Plans.
  • Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
