Freelance Role Description

The Quality Assurance Inspector is a contract, on-site role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. This position is responsible for inspecting residential developments to identify snags, defects, and risks before completion, ensuring that homes meet agreed quality standards and client specifications.

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Conducting detailed site inspections
  • Documenting findings
  • Preparing clear reports
  • Working with project teams to ensure corrective actions are implemented

The inspector will collaborate closely with developers, contractors, and customer care teams to support best-practice handover processes and contribute to a consistent, high-quality resident experience. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, following established QA procedures, and providing feedback to improve quality management frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Quality Assurance / snagging on new-build residential projects
  • Candidates should possess practical skills in Quality Control and Inspection, including conducting site assessments and verifying compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Relevant experience in residential construction, building services, or property management; familiarity with UK building regulations, NHBC tolerances, and industry best practices is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate findings clearly in writing and in person.
  • Ability to work independently on-site, manage time effectively across multiple projects, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and client stakeholders.
