Job Title: QA Lead

Location: Telford with 2 days/week in the office

Duration: 6 months

Pay Rate: £657 per day all-in (PAYE through Umbrella)

Clearance Required: BPSS (SC would be an advantage)


Job Description:

QA Lead

Tax Admin has an exciting opportunity for a senior test professional to provide leadership and technical guidance for a major programme essential to Core Business Platforms.


Role Definition:

The Tax Admin Core Modernisation Programme seeks a QA professional to oversee the implementation of the QA Strategy and to drive the Quality Assurance framework across all project streams within this initiative. This position will establish the direction for all testing activities, provide continuous governance, and operate at the programme level with overarching responsibility for quality management at every stage of testing across multiple projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Implement the CESA Futures Programme QA strategy
  • Drive delivery of QA deliverables with Project QA Leads in line with the strategy/principles
  • Work with clients and key project stakeholders to establish scope and approach for QA in line with Programme requirements
  • Provide support and guidance for Project QA Leads to deliver modernisation projects
  • Ensure the project-level test approach documents align with the programme principles and strategy
  • Provide a structure for monitoring and reporting on QA deliverables
  • Lead the governance activity across the CESA Futures projects
  • Manage the team accountable leads for QA activities to ensure visible adherence to strategy
  • Quality Assurance of individual test deliverables that sit under the strategy document (approach and completion documents)
  • Project-level test planning and review as required
  • Risk Mitigation and Management

Document Authorship:

The Core Modernisation Programme QA Lead is responsible for the CESA Futures QA Strategy, Reporting (Project/Programme), and Completion documents. Leads the team on development of processes and guides, assessments, and Business Case production.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in Quality Assurance and Test Strategy development
  • Knowledge of modern QA tools and methodologies
  • Understand and influence the technical solution, with a focus on design for testability
  • Strong leadership and governance skills – appropriate challenge of approaches and outcomes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proficiency in risk mitigation and management
  • Ability to work collaboratively across the Programme and multiple project teams
  • Experience in producing and managing QA deliverables
  • Proven track record of delivering QA projects within a specified timeframe
  • Demonstrate an understanding of best practices and identify benchmarks of excellence
  • SC Clearance is not required but would be useful
