QA Manager

I am partnered with a specialist and expanding pharmaceutical manufacturing business that is continuing to invest in both its people and quality function across the UK.

The business is now looking to appoint a QA Manager for one of its South East facilities in Surrey. This is a key position within a small, fast-paced manufacturing facility and an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the site-wide quality systems, while helping shape quality culture and operational standards moving forward.

Acting as the local quality lead, you will oversee all site quality activities, managing a small team whilst remaining hands-on across the full spectrum of quality assurance. The position will have direct responsibility for a small team and will need to have a hands-on, coaching leadership style. This role is about far more than day-to-day operational QA. The successful individual will provide oversight of site-wide quality systems, manage priorities across multiple stakeholders, lead internal auditing activities, and act as a key quality partner to both operational and leadership teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
