The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market-leading brands, we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments across the UK and Europe.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead our Quality function and drive excellence across our manufacturing operations.

About The Role

Reporting to the Group Operations Director, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of Quality Assurance across manufacturing and customer support activities. You will establish and develop a dedicated Quality team, ensuring products consistently meet customer expectations, industry standards and regulatory requirements.

This is a pivotal leadership role focused on defect prevention, reducing the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), improving customer satisfaction, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance

  • Lead and develop the Quality team responsible for factory quality assurance and customer support.
  • Ensure independent inspection and verification of production activities throughout manufacture.
  • Develop and implement in-process inspection plans across fabrication, welding, roll forming, powder coating and assembly.
  • Conduct layered process audits and manufacturing quality audits.
  • Lead root cause investigations and drive effective corrective actions.
  • Reduce internal defects through proactive quality assurance activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
