Quality Assurance Manager – North East
Pay: Competitive Salary
Contract: Full-Time and Permanent
Location: North East

At Kara Healthcare, we're looking for an experienced and motivated Quality Assurance Manager to support our services across the North East.
This is an important role within our organisation. You'll work closely with Home Managers, care teams, and senior leadership to monitor quality, strengthen compliance, identify risks, and make sure our services continue to provide safe, compassionate, and person-centred care.
We're looking for someone who can build positive relationships, ask the right questions, and provide constructive support while making sure standards are consistently met.

What You'll Be Doing
As Quality Assurance Manager, you'll play a key role in monitoring and improving quality across our services in the North East.
You will:
- Carry out regular quality assurance visits, audits, and reviews across our services.
- Monitor compliance with CQC regulations, legislation, company policies, and internal standards.
- Review care records, documentation, policies, procedures, and other quality-related information.
- Identify areas of good practice as well as areas where improvements are needed.
- Work with Home Managers to develop clear and practical improvement plans.
- Monitor action plans and ensure agreed improvements are completed and maintained.
- Identify trends, recurring issues, and potential risks across services.
- Provide clear feedback and recommendations to Home Managers and senior leadership.
- Support services in preparing for CQC inspections and other external audits.
- Support the investigation and review of incidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns, and other quality matters where required.
- Make sure lessons are identified and translated into meaningful improvements.
- Share good practice and learning across Kara Healthcare services.
- Monitor key quality indicators and contribute to regular quality reports.
- Support the development and implementation of quality assurance frameworks and processes.
- Work with managers and care teams to strengthen standards and improve outcomes for residents.
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation, regulation, and best practice.
- Promote a culture where quality, accountability, and continuous improvement are part of everyday practice.
- Keep the experience, safety, dignity, and wellbeing of residents at the centre of quality assurance activity.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is thorough, confident, and genuinely passionate about improving care.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in quality assurance, quality compliance, governance, or a senior care role.
- Strong experience within adult social care.
- Good knowledge of CQC regulations and relevant adult social care legislation.
- Experience carrying out audits, quality reviews, monitoring visits, or inspections.
- Experience developing and monitoring action plans.
- A good understanding of safeguarding, complaints, incidents, risk management, and care quality.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to identify risks and take a proactive approach to resolving them.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The confidence to challenge standards when necessary while maintaining positive relationships with teams.
- A fair, consistent, and practical approach.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Relevant Health and Social Care, Quality, or Compliance qualifications would be advantageous.
- Experience working across multiple care homes or services would be highly beneficial.
