Quality Manager | Responsible Person (RP) & RPi
Allerton Bishop is partnering with a growing pharmaceutical and healthcare distribution business, based in England on a remote basis, to appoint a Quality Manager with Responsible Person (RP) and Responsible Person Import (RPI) responsibilities. This is a pivotal hire, combining operational quality leadership with regulatory compliance and senior oversight of GDP and import release activities.
This role offers a hybrid working model, strong autonomy, and the opportunity to make a significant impact within a well-invested organisation committed to compliance and quality excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the named Responsible Person (RP) and Responsible Person for Import (RPI) on the company’s licences.
- Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with MHRA GDP and GMP importation standards.
- Provide oversight for batch certification and release of imported medicinal products.
- Lead regulatory audits, authority inspections, and customer quality audits.
- Own and manage deviations, CAPAs, change controls, complaint investigations, and quality risk assessments.
- Ensure robust supplier qualification and GDP oversight of 3PLs, carriers, and manufacturing partners.
- As the Quality Manager, deliver ongoing GDP/GMP training across the business and champion a culture of quality and compliance.
- Manage, develop and mentor a small team of quality specialists.
- Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Regulatory, Operations, and external partners to ensure compliant product flow.

- Eligibility to act as a registered Responsible Person (RP) and Responsible Person Import (RPI) in the UK.
- Extensive knowledge of GDP and GMP regulations (EU/UK GDP Guidelines, MHRA expectations).
- Proven quality assurance experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical distribution environments.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, decision-making, and documented evidence of quality system ownership.
- Hybrid working flexibility, commutable to the Midlands, England.
