QA Manager – HS2

Location: Birmingham – HS2 SCS Project

Employment Type: Full-Time Contract


We are looking for an experienced QA Manager to join a major HS2 project in Birmingham. This is a key leadership position responsible for managing and overseeing the Project Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring quality requirements are consistently implemented across MEPH works.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor the Project Quality Management System and Quality Plan
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, HS2/SCS, project and industry requirements
  • Oversee ITPs, inspections, testing and quality assurance processes
  • Manage materials acceptance, certification and traceability
  • Oversee quality records and Quality Records Packs (QRPs)
  • Lead surveillance, audits, inspections and quality reviews
  • Manage non-conformances, defects, snagging and outstanding works
  • Monitor quality performance, KPIs, trends and risks
  • Support progressive assurance, completions and handover
  • Lead and coordinate Quality and Field Assurance teams
  • Work closely with Construction, Engineering, Testing & Commissioning and Completions teams
  • Act as the key point of contact for quality-related matters

Requirements

  • HND, NVQ, CQI or equivalent qualification
  • Electrical, Mechanical or Communications installation background
  • Strong experience in QA/QC management within construction or infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of QMS, QA/QC, ITPs and inspection processes
  • Experience managing audits, inspections, non-conformances and defect management
  • Experience managing quality documentation and records
  • Strong understanding of construction and MEICA systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams within a complex project environment

Desirable

  • Experience on HS2, Crossrail or similar major infrastructure projects
  • MEPH / Building Services experience
  • Experience with Asite or similar digital quality systems
  • ISO 9001, Six Sigma or relevant quality certification
  • Professional body membership
  • Experience supporting completions and handover

We are looking for a strong quality leader who can drive compliance, progressive assurance and right-first-time delivery across a major infrastructure project.
